Since RevelationMedia’s inception, translation has been a key part of our vision for ministry. It is powerful when people can experience God’s Word in their primary (or “heart”) language, which is why Bible translation is such an important piece of mission work globally.
But what about the people who cannot read? And what about the people who—like a significant portion of younger generations—simply choose not to read? iBIBLE is a visual Bible for a visual and connected world. We want to meet people where they are, bringing them the Word of God in a format they can and will engage with through vibrant art, a script based solely on the Bible, dramatic audio, and on-screen text.
Based in Ukraine, our translation desk works in hundreds of languages, specializing in taking our iBIBLE scripts and bringing them to life in the languages of the world.
RevelationMedia has three main priorities in choosing languages for iBIBLE translations. First, we rely on our partners with established translation groups help translate iBIBLE into different languages. The languages in which our partners work are prioritized, as those lines of distribution have already been established. As we have released iBIBLE episodes and made more global connections, individuals and mission groups have reached out to translate iBIBLE into even more languages, expanding our reach and bringing iBIBLE all over the world.
Second in line to our various partners’ languages, we prioritize gateway languages. Gateway languages provide a base language for additional translations and include languages like Portuguese, Spanish, Indonesian, Arabic, French, Hindi, Swahili, Russian, Amharic, and Hausa, among others.
Third, we prioritize languages with high social media engagement. We can reach many people who speak these languages through a robust social media presence. For instance, Tagalog has a significant social media opportunity, and countries like Somalia, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan are very difficult to openly distribute Christian content in, but also have significant opportunities to encounter iBIBLE through social media.
